At Dominion Furniture, we believe the true quality of a mattress begins deep inside its support system.

That is why we use premium 13 Gauge Tempered High Carbon Steel Pocket Coil Systems in our better mattress collections — engineered for exceptional durability, long-term performance, and superior support night after night.

Not all spring systems are created equal.

Many lower-priced mattresses use thinner wire, lower carbon steel, or imported spring systems designed primarily to reduce manufacturing costs. While these mattresses may initially feel comfortable in a showroom, lower-quality steel can fatigue faster over time, leading to:

  • reduced support,
  • loss of resilience,
  • premature sagging,
  • body impressions,
  • and diminished comfort.

At Dominion Furniture, we take a different approach.

Our premium spring systems are manufactured using:

Tempered High Carbon Steel

for increased strength, consistency, and long-term memory retention.

Tempering helps the steel maintain its original shape and responsiveness through years of repeated compression cycles, while the higher carbon content enhances:

  • durability,
  • structural integrity,
  • support stability,
  • and overall mattress longevity.

The result is a more supportive sleep surface designed to:

  • maintain spinal alignment,
  • reduce motion transfer,
  • improve edge stability,
  • and provide consistent comfort over time.

Our 13 gauge steel construction offers a stronger, more substantial support system than many lower-quality mattresses that rely on thinner gauge or lower-grade steel components.

This matters because the support core is the foundation of the mattress.

A mattress may have plush foams and luxurious fabrics on top — but if the spring system underneath loses integrity, the comfort and support of the entire mattress can decline prematurely.

That’s why we focus on building mattresses from the inside out using:

  • premium materials,
  • quality engineering,
  • and support systems designed for real long-term performance.

Because at Dominion Furniture, we believe better sleep starts with better construction.

Stronger Support.

Better Durability.

Better Sleep.
